Celebrating 15 Years and Giving Back in a Big Way

By Kim Mason, Talent & Development Principal

Alkami

On August 21, 2024, Alkami reached a significant milestone – our 15th anniversary! This isn’t just a celebration of the years we’ve been in business or the digital banking solutions we’ve built, but a testament to the relationships we’ve cultivated and the communities we’ve been privileged to serve. Rather than stopping at the traditional cake and balloons, we chose to broaden our celebration by giving back to the community that has supported us every step of the way.

For Alkami, this celebration is more than just marking a milestone. It is about recognizing the importance of giving back and making a tangible impact in the communities where our customers live and work. We understand that our success is intertwined with the well-being of these communities, and we are committed to doing our part to support them.

Whether it’s helping a family celebrate a birthday or providing support to a veteran or a child in need, we believe that every action, no matter how small, can make a big difference. That’s why we are so passionate about our Alkami Cares Together (ACT) program and why we continue to seek out ways to contribute to the causes that matter most to our Alkamists, our customers and the communities they serve.

Partnering with Minnie’s Food Pantry: Spreading Joy

This year, we partnered with Minnie’s Food Pantry to help families in need celebrate their birthdays or other special moments, too. Birthdays and anniversaries are a time for joy and reflection, and we believe that everyone deserves the chance to feel special on their big day, regardless of their circumstances.

To accomplish this goal, we created an Amazon wish list filled with cake mixes, party supplies, and party essentials for our incredible customers and employees. They jumped in with enthusiasm, purchasing every item to donate and helping spread that joy.

But we didn’t stop there. At August’s TechFin and Hackathon Conference, Alkamists came together as a team and packed over 200 “birthday party in a bag” for individuals and families facing food insecurity. Each bag contained everything needed, including a handwritten card, for a fun and memorable birthday celebration, a small gesture that we hope will bring smiles and warmth to those who need it most.

Customers Helped Us Choose a Charity!

Our customers are more than just business partners—they’re the stars that guide us in everything we do. Through our ACT program, we consistently support causes that align with our core values: women and children, food insecurity, and veterans. These are issues that not only resonate with us but also deeply affect the communities where our customers live and work.

In honor of our 15th anniversary, we are broadening our network of support by inviting our customers to participate in our “15-for-15 drawing”. Alkami asked our customers to submit the name of a charity supporting women and children, food insecurity, or veterans, and to tell us why that charity was important to them.

The response was overwhelming. We received so many heartfelt submissions, each reflecting the passion our customers have for making a difference in their communities. We compiled all the entries and randomly selected 15 charities to receive a $500 donation in their local bank or credit union’s name.

Below are the 15 charities that won our 15-for-15 drawing.
