Tim Boggs, Digital Experience Manager at 3Rivers, shares how the team tackled a rise in phishing threats with help from Alkami and Appgate.
“We were actually dealing with a wave of phishing attacks that led to a bunch of account takeovers. Our team was spending so much manual effort trying to get these websites and fake mobile apps taken down.”
Looking for a more efficient solution, 3Rivers partnered with Alkami and was introduced to Appgate.
“Lo and behold, it ended up being the right solution to fix all these issues we were experiencing.”
Since implementing Appgate, the impact has been significant:
“We’ve had over 250 phishing sites taken down, including fake mobile apps and social media accounts. The number of phishing sites targeting us is slowly dropping, which means it’s doing the job.”
Appgate integrates smoothly into the team’s workflow:
“Our team members submit anything suspicious to a dedicated email. Our fraud team then opens a ticket with Appgate, and they handle it—usually taking sites down in less than 15 minutes.”
Beyond detection and takedowns, Appgate supports ongoing communication with members:
“We use the reporting and data to update our members with blog posts on current fraud trends. There’s been a clear reduction in threats since we brought in Appgate.”
